HOTSPOT MAP

The focus areas for intervention are five “hotspots” that correspond to locations identified by the Rainier Beach community as “Pearls” (pink circles on the map), natural gathering places, and activity hubs that define the unique character of the Rainier Beach neighborhood. These locations are also identified as historically having concentrations of youth victimization and crime:

A. Rose Street: Rainier Ave S between Rose and S Kenyon streets.

B. Lake Washington Apartments: Seward Park Ave S adjacent to Rainier Beach High School, Beer Sheva Park, and Lake Washington Apartments.

C. Safeway Grocery Store: retail complex in the 9200 blocks of Rainier Ave S.

D. Rainier & Henderson: Intersections of Rainier Ave S and S Henderson street.

E. Rainier Beach Light Rail Station: Intersection of S Henderson and Martin Luther King Jr. Way S.
